Aleksei Arestovich, a freelance adviser to the head of the President's Office, believes that LGBT people have some kind of deviations, and therefore he sympathizes with them. He said this on the air of the Apeiron School of Thinking program, answering questions from the audience. The video aired on June 19, the day before the ratification of the Istanbul Convention by the Verkhovna Rada. – I have said many times and do not hide: I treat LGBT people as people with deviation, that is, with deviations from the norms of behavior. In this sense, I am a conservative. Another thing is that I am against their persecution. I believe that in everyone you need to first of all see a person. So I have a normal attitude towards LGBT people, but I am cruel to LGBT propaganda. Because this is propaganda of deviation, a deviation from the norm, which has specific negative consequences for society. I am a determined opponent. I have sympathy for LGBT people,” he admitted. The KyivPride organization called on President Volodymyr Zelensky to dismiss Arestovich from his position as an adviser. – It is we who treat you with sympathy, because to be a homophobic “Russian measure” in Ukraine is a deviation and deviation from the norm. We are against Arestovich's pseudoscientific propaganda. We call on Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Office of the President to dismiss this person from the post of Advisor. This issue has been around for a long time in society. Such rhetoric from government officials is unacceptable if we want to be in the EU, the report says.
