Reznikov explained why the counteroffensive in the Kherson region is progressing more slowly than in the Kharkiv region
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov named the reason why the counteroffensive in the Kherson region is moving more slowly than in Kharkov. He spoke about this in the commentary «Financial Times«.
According to him, in the Kharkiv region, the counteroffensive was like a «snowball» and it went much «better than expected«. At the same time, the head of the defense department noted that the counteroffensive in the Kherson region is moving more slowly, since this is an agricultural region «with irrigation canals», which the Russians can use as defensive trenches.
The Minister drew attention to the fact that the Chechens in southern Ukraine are being used to prevent front-line troops from leaving their positions.
