< p> Russia will need at least a week to withdraw its troops from Kherson. This was stated by Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov in a commentary to Reuters.
According to the minister, now there is a Russian contingent of 40 thousand people in the Kherson region, and intelligence showed that the invaders remained in the regional center, around the city and on the right bank of the Dnieper.
«It is not so easy to withdraw these troops from Kherson in one or two days. At a minimum (it will take — ed.) one week», he said.
Reznikov emphasized that such a retreat would free up forces on both sides to fight elsewhere.
He called «crazy» the idea that Russia might blow up the Kakhovka HPP during its retreat, claiming that it would flood territories temporarily occupied by Russia.
«If you look at the landscape in the area , you will find that the west bank is the high ground and the east bank the lower. This means that the water will flow east from this shore, and they (the Russians – ed.) will endanger their troops», the minister explained.
- According to Media, the Russians began to destroy the infrastructure of Kherson before retreating.
