Institutional discussions continue aimed at the creation of a network of commercial contacts with the Middle East by the Chamber of Commerce of Catanzaro. The Extraordinary Commissioner of the Entity Daniele Rossi met on Wednesday with the Iranian Ambassador to Italy, HE Hamid Bayat. Iran has been a commercial partner of our country for decades, so much so that for years it has played a leading role among Italy’s interlocutors. Also in view of the important world showcase of the Dubai Expo to be held in a few months, the attention of the Chamber of Commerce of Catanzaro is focused on building new commercial relationships with countries that show interest in certain product sectors in which companies from the province of Catanzaro, but also from all over Calabria, operate with quality.
The Iranian production context requires supplies of machinery, components, semi-finished products, as well as the transfer of know-how and new technologies to complement the skills acquired so far by the local industry. Among the economic areas of relevance for export there are then the chemical sector and that of pharmaceutical products, whose commercial relations already in place in 2020 amounted to 20% of the total Italian exports to the Middle Eastern country: “The province of Catanzaro, thanks to the presence of the “Magna Graecia” University and several innovative companies, can boast some entrepreneurial realities and above all professionalism that can find the Middle East market particularly interesting for the pharmacological and chemical sectors – said Rossi at the end of the meeting – Iran is among the top twenty economies in the world and is the second in the Middle East: it is therefore a market to be taken into strong consideration ”.
