The Russian Ministry of Defense acknowledged the loss of control over part of the Luhansk region by the occupiers. The corresponding map was shown during the daily briefing.

The Russian Defense Ministry has ceased to mark the territory south of the village of Raygorodok and around the village of Novovodyanoe as under the control of the occupying forces. During the briefing the day before, these territories were marked as controlled by Russia.

Thus, we can talk about the loss of the settlements of Nadiya, Grekovka (Petrivske until 2016) and Novogorovka, the liberation of which by the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was announced on October 9 by the head of the Luhansk Regional Administration Sergei Gaidai. On the same day, Gaidai announced the restoration of control over the village of Stelmakhovka. In turn, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine made an “unsuccessful attempt” to attack in the direction of Stelmakhivka.
