Russian oligarch Fridman asks for Ukrainian citizenship
The well-known Russian businessman Mikhail Fridman, who is originally from Ukraine, wants to take citizenship of our country and re-register his main assets. This was stated by the head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption Oleksandr Novikov in an interview with Forbes. – As far as I know, Mikhail Fridman is consulting with the Ukrainian authorities in order to obtain Ukrainian citizenship and re-register the main assets in Ukraine. Such a scenario is also possible for other major Russian businessmen of Ukrainian origin, for example, Viktor Vekselberg, who was born in Drohobych, Novikov said. We are talking about Russian entrepreneur Mikhail Fridman, who is a co-owner and head of the supervisory board of the Alfa- groups.” Friedman is a citizen of Russia, but he was born in Lvov. In Ukraine, all the assets of a businessman have been arrested, since he is under sanctions from the EU, the USA, Great Britain and Canada.
