
Russian universities and rectors fell under Ukrainian sanctions
President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against 236 higher educational institutions of Russia and 261 rectors. The corresponding document is published on the website of the head of state. – To support the proposals made by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions). Apply them to individuals and legal entities, the document says. According to the decree, Zelensky instructed the Cabinet of Ministers, the National Bank and the Security Service of Ukraine to ensure the implementation and monitoring of the effectiveness of sanctions, and the Foreign Ministry to inform the competent authorities of the European Union, the United States of America and other states to apply sanctions and raise the issue of imposing similar restrictive measures before them. As noted in the attached document to the decree, these restrictions provide for the termination of cultural exchanges, scientific cooperation, educational and sports contacts, entertainment programs with foreign states and foreign legal entities. The duration of the restrictions is indefinite.
