Scholz explained why Germany is delaying the supply of weapons to Ukraine

Germany is delaying the transfer of heavy weapons to Ukraine, as it trains Ukrainian military personnel to use them. This is reported by “Handelsblatt”.

– We are going to deliver all the weapons that we have … training is in progress right now. It would be a mistake to simply deliver the Panzerhaubitze 2000, which is one of the most advanced weapons with the largest artillery capabilities in the world, without any instructions, training or anything else, Prime Minister Olaf Scholz said.

According to him, the Gepard anti-aircraft tanks have not yet been handed over to Ukraine, since the training of the APU fighters is still ongoing.

– We are talking about really heavy equipment. You must be able to use it, you must be trained to work with it, which is currently happening in Germany, he stressed.

As the head of the German government noted, the situation is the same with the Cobra and “Iris-T”. Scholz recalled that these systems are the most in demand all over the world and many countries would like to have them.
