Scholz's first statement in Kyiv: We will help as much as necessary
The visit to Kyiv of the heads of three large EU countries at once is an important signal and a demonstration of support for Ukraine in a full-scale Russian invasion. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a visit to Kyiv, writes Bild. – We do not just want to show solidarity, we also want to assure that the assistance we organize is financial, humanitarian, but also when it comes to weapons, it will continue,” Scholz stressed. He added that assistance will be provided “as long as it is necessary for Ukraine’s struggle for independence.” The French leader said in his speech that he and his colleagues would give President Zelensky a “sign of European support for all Ukrainians.” This is the first visit of Scholz, Macron and Draghi to Ukraine since the beginning of the war. They settled in the InterContinental hotel and plan to visit Irpin. Shortly after their arrival in Kyiv, an air raid alert was announced in the capital and almost throughout Ukraine. Where the leaders of the countries waited it out and how they reacted is currently unknown.
