“Servant of the people” Bardina denied that she wants to become an ombudsman
Servant of the People MP Marina Bardina said that she would not be able to be the new Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, even if the Verkhovna Rada passes her bill to abolish the age criterion for the Ombudsman. The politician wrote about this on her Facebook page, asking for rumors that she was “aiming for the chair” of Lyudmila Denisova. – I registered a RFP on the abolition of the age criterion for the Ombudsman and it started to happen that I was doing it for myself. Read the materiel, dear hypers, there is another 10 years of experience in the field of human rights. And at the same time, you can ask where the ridiculous norm about 40 years came from, – Bardina wrote. She added that she is against the nomination of people's deputies to the position of ombudsman, as well as any age qualifications. – At the same time, I see such worthy human rights activists as Larisa Denisenko, Oleksandra Matviychuk, Oleksandr Pavlichenko in the position of ombudsman, – summed up Bardina. The Rada decided to leave the position of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada Lyudmila Denisova on May 31. According to the head of the procedural committee of the parliament, Pavel Frolov, Denisova “almost did not fulfill” her powers to organize humanitarian corridors, protect and exchange prisoners, and counteract the deportation of people and children from the occupied territories. All these questions were “actually forced” by the head of the Ministry of Integration, Irina Vereshchuk. Another claim is the “incomprehensible concentration” of the Ombudsman on numerous details of sexual crimes committed in an unnatural way, and the rape of children in the occupied territories, which she cannot substantiate with evidence. Denisova immediately announced that she would appeal against her dismissal in court as “going contrary to the Constitution.”
