Ousted producer Luc Wiseman has been sentenced to two years less a day in prison and three years probation for a charge of sexually touching a 12-year-old girl. Luc Wiseman had pleaded guilty last month, thus giving up the preliminary investigation.
The court therefore agreed with the joint suggestion of the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP) and the defence.
Detained since his guilty plea, Luc Wiseman will therefore have to serve 22 months in prison, the judge having credited the time he has already spent behind bars.
The facts for which Luc Wiseman was found guilty took place between November 2018 and April 2021, in Montreal.
The other four counts against him — sexual assault of a minor, production and possession of child pornography and assault — were dismissed. abandoned.
During his visit to the courtroom last month, Luc Wiseman addressed the judge, saying he regretted the actions he had committed.
I hope [the victim] will have all the tools to get by, he added.
At the time of his arrest in May 2021, the 60-year-old was president and owner of Avanti group, then co-producer of the show Everyone talks about it.
The firm immediately confirmed Mr. Wiseman's resignation.
