Shooting-out in Longueuil, two people wounded

The police set up a security perimeter not far from the park Empire, near Churchill Boulevard in Greenfield Park.

Two men were shot and wounded overnight from Thursday to Friday in Greenfield Park, Longueuil police report.

The shots were heard around 11:30 p.m. near Empire Park in Greenfield Park, said Ghyslain Vallières, of the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL).

Called to the scene, patrol officers found two injured men in their twenties. Each had been hit by at least one projectile.

They were taken to a hospital to treat their injuries. We don't fear for their lives.

A crime scene was erected and investigators were still at work early Friday morning.

Churchill Boulevard was closed to traffic in both directions between Parent and Springfield streets.

Mr. Vallières clarified that the first elements collected do not make it possible to establish a link with organized crime. The victims appeared to know the suspects.

No arrests were reported Friday morning.
