In Kherson region since the liberation, Russia has killed 32 civilians. This was reported by the head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klymenko on his Facebook page.
«Daily Russian shelling destroys the city and kills civilians. In total, since the de-occupation, Russia has killed 32 civilians in the Kherson region», — noted Klimenko.
According to him, many are evacuating to find shelter in calmer regions, but many Kherson residents remain in their homes, and the police need to ensure they are as safe as possible.
«Therefore, together with the First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yevgeny Enin and the head of the State Migration Service Natalia Naumenko, they visited Kherson to control the implementation of stabilization measures. The next operational meeting was held in a shelter to the sound of explosions. It is important that there is a result: the National Police of Ukraine is confidently and in an organized manner restoring its work in the de-occupied part of Kherson»,— Klymenko stressed.
Seven police units resumed work in the liberated territories, four of them in Kherson itself. 44 automobile and foot patrols are on duty on the streets of the regional center. 850 policemen serve in Kherson.
Combined detachments from the Kirovograd, Odessa, Cherkasy and Dnepropetrovsk regions were also involved. There are also specialized investigative teams that document war crimes committed by Russian servicemen and their accomplices. So far, 578 such people have been recorded in the Kherson region.
«But we got the opportunity to provide a police presence precisely thanks to the brave work of our explosive teams. Because the Kherson region among all the de-occupied territories turned out to be the most mined», — emphasized Klimenko.
Police sappers have already examined almost 450 hectares of the liberated territories of the region and seized more than 3.5 thousand explosive objects.
«Thanks to the work deminers managed to save hundreds, if not thousands of lives. Therefore, we personally thanked the explosives technicians for their service and presented them with awards and titles. No one knows what a new day will bring. But everyone is sure that you need to stand firmly on your land, to protect Ukraine and its people. And we will stand. And we will win», — summed up Klymenko.
