Skibitsky spoke about one of the strategic goals of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Ukrainian army will is ready to launch a counteroffensive, and one of the strategic goals will be an attempt «to drive a wedge into the Russian front in the south». This was stated by Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadym Skibitsky, DW reports. he noted.

Skibitsky added that the exact moment depends on a number of factors, including the supply of Western weapons. He clarified that one of the strategic goals will be an attempt «to drive a wedge into the Russian front in the south — between Crimea and mainland Russia».

The Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate also did not rule out that Ukraine would strike at arms depots in Russia, in particular, in the Belgorod region.

< p>«The attacks on Ukraine will start from there. This poses a threat, for example, to Kharkov. The purpose of the announced counteroffensive — «liberate all occupied territories of Ukraine, including Crimea. We will stop only when we restore the country within the borders of 1991»,” Skibitsky emphasized.
