The Russians started «fight» against Western tanks, although they are not yet on the battlefield, to devalue their importance at the front. This explanation is provided by the Center for Strategic Communications.
In particular, Russian propaganda media announced the creation of the so-called «hunter squads» on Western tanks, they are offered a monetary reward for their destruction or capture.
«The Russian military is really afraid of the appearance of Western tanks on the battlefield. Propaganda is trying to somehow smooth out the negative psychological effect»,— the message says.
That is, in this way, Russian propagandists are trying to devalue the Western Leopard, Challenger and Abrams, inventing stories about their alleged «unsuitability for the theater of operations, the difficulty to control Ukrainian crews».
