
Suspect arrested for running through gates in front of Parliament in Ottawa
No charges have yet been filed.
An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of an incident that occurred last night, around 3.30 a.m., when a vehicle drove into the gates in front of Parliament, on Wellington Street, directly in front of the Terry Fox statue.
Damage to the doors is minimal according to police, but a suspect was arrested by a police officer who was in the area.
He was brought to the police station without resistance.
The Ottawa Police Service is conducting the investigation in conjunction with the Parliamentary Police Service. No charges have yet been filed.
