Syrsky: The relevance of retaining Bakhmut is only growing

Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky said that the importance of holding the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region by the defenders is only growing. This was reported by the press service of the Ground Forces.

According to him, every day of the defense of Bakhmut allows the Ukrainian side to gain time to prepare reserves and prepare for future offensive operations. Syrsky also added that in the battles for Bakhmut the occupiers had the most trained and combat-ready part of their troops — assault squads «Wagner».

At the same time, the commander drew attention to the latest statements by the owner of the terrorist PMC «Wagner» Yevgeny Prigozhin, who confirm that the capture of the city will untie the hands of the invaders for a further offensive using army and airborne units on military equipment.
