Frank Young was last seen outside his home in the Red Earth Cree Nation, 300 km northeast of Saskatoon, on the 19 April afternoon.
In the days that followed, more than 200 volunteers covered nearly 92 square km in search of him, while other volunteers continued to join the search despite the weather. The Carrot River, swollen by the spring flood, reached 4 to 6 meters in height.
