The General Staff named the next target of the invaders after the capture of the Donetsk region
In the near future, the Russian occupation troops will try to capture the entire Donetsk region, after which they will try to occupy parts of the Zaporozhye region. This was stated during the briefing by the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Aleksey Gromov.
According to him, the General Staff expects that in the near future the enemy will try to enter the administrative borders of the Donetsk region, and in the future may intensify its actions to seize the left-bank part of the Zaporozhye region.
At the same time, the command expects that the invaders will continue to launch missile and air strikes on critical infrastructure facilities throughout Ukraine.
Gromov added that in order to implement its plans to seize Ukraine, Russia announced large-scale measures to reform the armed forces – in particular, an increase in the total number to 1.5 million people and the formation of at least 20 new divisions.
The General stressed that Russia does not abandoned plans to seize the entire territory of Ukraine and destroy its statehood.
