The human remains found in August 2022 in the Saint John region of New Brunswick are those of Kyle Richard LeBlanc, who was reported missing in 2020, confirms the municipal police.

The remains of a human skeleton found in a wooded area in Saint John, New Brunswick, are those of Kyle Richard LeBlanc, 32, the municipal police department confirms.

Mr. LeBlanc was reported missing on December 30, 2020, police said in a statement. He was last seen that day at around 4:20 p.m. in the Lakewood Heights area.

Police searched the Lakewood Heights area in the spring of 2021 in hopes of finding him, but were unsuccessful.

Then last Friday a hiker found some human remains west of an ATV trail in a heavily wooded area northwest of Lakewood Heights, police say.

Police, supported by search and rescue teams, searched the area and on Sunday found more human remains which were about 100 meters from those discovered on Friday.

A forensic odontologist was able to confirm that these are the remains of Kyle Richard LeBlanc.

The Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate the circumstances of his death. No other details will be communicated for the moment, underlines the municipal police in its press release.

The police department thanks the public for their help since the beginning of the search and it offers condolences to the family and friends of Mr. LeBlanc.
