Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov explained the words of Vladimir Putin about the alleged desire to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible. He said this during a briefing on December 23.
During a press conference on December 22, the Russian dictator said that Russia does not aim to “spin the flywheel” of the war in Ukraine and seeks to end it as soon as possible. At the same time, he noted that «intensification of hostilities leads to unjustified losses».
In turn, Peskov said that Putin did not mean negotiations to end the war, but the speedy achievement of the goals.
«There are no preliminary contacts on this (negotiations — ed.). Of course, any conflict ends at the negotiating table. We are talking, first of all, about the speedy completion of the NWO (war against Ukraine & # 8212; ed.) by achieving the goals that the Russian Federation sets for itself & # 187;, & # 8212; said Peskov.
