
The President put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the creation of a register of oligarchs
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the register of oligarchs. This is stated in the presidential decree of June 29. The document approves the procedure for the formation and maintenance of the register. It will be conducted in electronic form in the state language. Data containing state secrets and official information will not be entered into it. Data on oligarchs entered in the register cannot be recognized as confidential. They will include full name, date and place of birth, identification data, passport details, etc., as well as justification for recognition as an oligarch. Data will be entered into the register by decision of the National Security and Defense Council. At the same time, the National Security and Defense Council will warn potential oligarchs about being entered into the register ten days in advance. They will also be excluded from the register by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council. Declarants, registrars, employees of the representation and administrator of the register, as well as the chairman, secretary and members of the National Security and Defense Council, officials and employees of other state bodies will have access to the register of oligarchs.< /p> The National Security and Defense Council approved the regulation on the register of oligarchs in May this year. The law on oligarchs itself was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in September 2021. The document, among other things, involves the creation of a special registry.
