The United States will allocate $1.5 billion to Ukraine every month

The US authorities plan to send about $1.5 billion to Ukraine every month to support the work of the government. According to Interfax-Ukraine, this was stated by First Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Derek Hogan.

– We have already allocated $1 billion for these purposes through various mechanisms, we intend to allocate about $1 more .5 billion monthly for 4-5 months, Hogan said at a seminar at the Woodrow Wilson Research Center in Washington.

According to the official, direct support for the Ukrainian authorities is “one of the priorities” of the administration of President Joe Biden. At the same time, Hogan added that the US should take into account the “medium and long term.” Now the efforts of the Americans should be aimed at ensuring the work of the government of Ukraine.

The day before, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the Ukrainian president of Ukraine, told how much and what kind of weapons Kyiv would like to receive from the West. At the same time, US officials, both former and current, warn of the need to establish control over Kyiv's use of aid provided by the United States.

Washington has allocated $54 billion to support Ukraine since January, more than “any other country, including aid sent to Afghanistan at the height of the US military intervention.”
