At the Russian air base «Engels» there is no obvious damage after the attacks by drones on December 26 and 29, however, some of the aircraft were transferred to other places. «The Drive» with reference to satellite images obtained by «The War Zone«.
According to the published images, the air base of the 22nd Heavy Bomber Division, which operates one squadron of Tu-95 fighters « Bear» (Bear-H) and another squadron of Tu-160 (Blackjack) supersonic bombers, received no serious damage after a series of attacks.
Meanwhile, the number of bombers at the specified base was significantly reduced. So, as of December 29, only 11 bombers were present, compared with November 26-29.
The recent snowfall in Engels also indicates the inactivity of some aircraft. While five Tu-95 «Medved» visibly cleared of ice and parked on cleared aprons and taxiways, four others remain covered in snow. The two remaining Tu-160 «Blackjack» also covered in snow, although at least one of them shows signs that its platform has been cleared of snow, possibly to allow safe access to taxiways.
