Tkachenko apologized for the jury that didn't rate Poland and Lithuania at Eurovision

Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko commented on the fact that the jury from Ukraine did not score Poland and Lithuania at Eurovision 2022.

– I want to turn to our closest friends in Europe and express my personal position on the assessment that the jury from Ukraine gave to Poland and Lithuania. This assessment in no way reflects the real attitude towards you, our closest friends in Europe. Yes, the British were cool and came second.

But putting 0 on the Poles and Lithuanians is a shame. The people of Ukraine gave you 12! Your support for Ukraine is invaluable. Our gratitude and affection for you is the same.

And although the competition is not political, it is not politics either – it is friendship, these are common values, this is comprehensive support in all areas. And I hope that this is all for many, many years.

Dear Polish and Lithuanian peoples, we are infinitely grateful to you, our victory is common. Both in Eurovision and the one that will be over the enemy,” he wrote on his Facebook on Sunday afternoon.

An hour before this entry, the head of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, posted a photo of the Ukrainian jury and noted that it gave the Poles got zero, although the audience from Ukraine rated the country's performance at 12 points.

– How far they are from the people. P.S. I sincerely hope that the NSTU and others responsible for the selection of our professional jury will find time to explain this discrepancy in the scores. P.P.S. Almost the same question is about our other brothers, who were supported by the Ukrainians, – the speaker of the parliament said on his page.

On the air of the telethon in the morning, Oleksandr Tkachenko expressed confidence that Ukraine would be able to host Eurovision at the highest level, since this would be the third competition for it. The minister said that two European ministers of culture wrote to him last night and offered him assistance in organizing Eurovision 2023.
