Two Ottawans perish in a plane crash

Two Ottawa residents died after a small plane crashed on a private airstrip in Port Hope (Ontario).

Ontario Provincial Police report they were called to the scene shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday. the crash involved a Cherokee Piper aircraft.

Police say the deaths of the two occupants of the plane, Alvin Crosby, 74, and Suzanne Parent, 72 years, of Ottawa, was found at the scene. Police have since evacuated the site of the incident. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
