On October 11 and 12, two Ukrainian military aircraft crashed in the Poltava region. This was announced during a video conference with journalists by the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Dmitry Lunin, Supіlne writes.
Both incidents occurred in the Shishatsky community. There were no dead or wounded among the civilian population.
«There were crashes on Tuesday and Wednesday, our planes crashed precisely in the Shishatsky community. I can’t comment on more information, the military leadership of the Ministry of Defense is commenting on these events. We are waiting for information from them», — Lunin said.
Speaker of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuri Ignat confirmed the fall of one plane in the Poltava region.
«On October 12, an Air Force plane crashed “SU-24M”, performing a mission in the eastern direction. It was there that the bomber struck at the points of the occupiers, rocket and bomb strikes at various targets. Having completed the task, the pilot deployed the aircraft. It was at that time that a rocket hit and the plane was hit. The pilots tried to reach the nearest airfield, but failed. One pilot survived, and the second one, unfortunately, died,” Ignat said.
