Ukraine and Russia again exchanged the bodies of dead soldiers

Ukraine returned to their homeland the bodies of 50 dead soldiers, including those who died in the battles at Azovstal. The exchange with Russia took place according to the “50 to 50” formula. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

– On the front line in the Zaporozhye region, an exchange of bodies of dead soldiers between Ukraine and Russia took place according to the formula “50 to 50”. The corresponding agreement was reached as a result of negotiations with the participation of Oleg Kotenko, Commissioner for Missing Persons in Special Circumstances. – indicated in the message.

According to the department, in total, the bodies of 50 dead defenders were returned to their homeland. Of these, 37 fighters died at the Mariupol plant “Azostal”. The Ministry also stressed that the process of returning the bodies of the dead Ukrainian military continues.

This is not the first exchange between Ukraine and the Russian Federation of the bodies of dead soldiers. For the first time, the procedure took place at the front in the Zaporozhye region on June 2 according to the formula “160 to 160”. A third of the dead soldiers are fighters from Azovstal. All the bodies were brought to Kyiv for an examination, after which the relatives of the dead will be called for identification.
