Ukraine: meeting in Germany of the US Secretary of Defense and allies | War in Ukraine

The US Secretary of Defense will host his counterparts from allied countries in Germany on September 8 to organize support for Ukrainian military capabilities against Russia, the US Air Force Command in Europe announced on Monday.

Lloyd Austin again invited Defense Ministers and senior officials militaries from around the world to discuss the current crisis in Ukraine and various security issues facing U.S. allies and partners, a U.S. Defense statement said.

The Washington-initiated meeting will take place at the US Ramstein Air Base in western Germany. Representatives from some 40 countries had met there in April and established a contact group on Ukrainian defense.

As fighting continues in eastern and southern Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he wants to take back all areas under Russian occupation, including Crimea, annexed by Russia in 2014.
