The Volunteering of the Reserve Bank announced that it will strengthen its social action initiatives, to ensure compliance with the objectives of sustainable development, encourage social inclusion, economic growth and protection of the environment.
The new president of the Volunteering, Noelia García de Pereyra, explained that the institution will offer support and special attention to female entrepreneurship , in order to promote the economic independence of women, so that they are self-sufficient and contribute to the support of their families with dignity.
“I firmly believe that the union of wills and solidarity can transform societies , make them more empathetic and humane to put them at the service of the most vulnerable,” he stressed.
García de Pereyra presented the management team of the entity in the presence of the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña; the first lady, Raquel Arbaje; and the general administrator of Banreservas, Samuel Pereyra.
“We are in a time of great transformation, so we must, all united in one voice, develop with impetus and responsibility, our duty to serve others and positively impact those we have the opportunity to help,” he explained .
She expressed that as president of the Banreservas Volunteer, she assumes the challenge of leading that organization towards standards of the highest quality and service, traits that characterize Banreservas employees.
A social approach
“Our approach will be focused on promoting innovative programs and projects for sustainable human development, which allow the creation of capacities and skills of Dominicans who need the support of the Banreservas Volunteer,” he announced.
García de Pereyra expressed that the Banreservas Volunteering begins a deeply human and supportive stage, which will extend its reach to new projects and audiences, so that from now on, it will intensify collaboration to mitigate the social consequences of COVID-19.
Innovation in environmental solutions
The president of the Volunteer Service reaffirmed that it will also strengthen innovation in sustainable environmental solutions , specifically in the communities near the banks of the Ozama and Yaque del Norte rivers. It will pay special attention to improving accessibility for people with disabilities in the commercial and administrative offices of Banreservas.
As indicated by its slogan “Small gestures, great achievements”, it reiterated its purpose of promoting the prosperity and well-being of all Dominicans , in coherence with the institutional values of Banreservas: commitment, leadership, excellence, integrity and innovation.
During the activity, held at the Hotel El Embajador, a tribute was paid to the communicator Jatnna Tavárez, former president of the Banreservas Volunteering, under whose management the organization was relaunched; as well as Altagracia Labibe Fériz, who started the management of the entity.
