Zelensky on granting Ukraine the status of an EU candidate: Waited 120 days and 30 years!
President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the leaders of the European Union who decided to grant Ukraine the status of a bloc candidate. This is a unique and historic moment in relations between Ukraine and the European Union. Grateful to Charles Michel and EU leaders for their support. The future of Ukraine is in the EU,” Zelensky wrote. Later, the President released a short video message in which he congratulated the Ukrainians on an event that had been expected for many days and years. – We just received the candidacy. This is victory. Waited 120 days and 30 years. And then we will defeat the enemy and we will rest. Or maybe we’ll rebuild the country first and then we’ll have a rest. Maybe we will even win, rebuild, join the EU and then we will have a rest. Or maybe we won't rest. Although no, the children will be offended. But we will definitely win!, he assured the Ukrainians. The European Union has granted Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia the status of an EU candidate. The decision was unanimously supported by all EU leaders during the summit in Brussels on June 23.
