President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Russian Federation, despite constant rocket attacks on Ukraine, had submitted a request through the President of Guinea-Bissau to «build bridges» and «unblocking relationships». He announced this during a briefing with President of Guinea-Bissau Umaru Shisoku Embalo.

«Regarding signals from the Russian side. The President of Guinea-Bissau handed them over. He said that Russia wants to build bridges. I showed Mr. President in depth what is happening with us. I said that in order to have bridges between certain states, it is necessary that the infrastructure is not blown up in one of the states. Then, it seems to me, we can talk about something in the future. Second question — who to talk to», — noted the Ukrainian leader.

He added that the second question, which was transmitted by Russia, that it is necessary to «unblock» relations. In response, the President called for the opening of at least the Black Sea.

According to Zelensky, the desire of the Russian President to talk — this is a planned rhetoric aimed at his internal audience and those countries that have not yet isolated political relations with Russia.

The President noted that for a dialogue with any country, one state must respect another, its sovereignty, territorial integrity and boundaries. Zelensky stressed that so far Russia is not doing all this. He also recalled that the Russian Federation is threatening with some kind of «dirty bomb» and occupied the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Embalo also said that he had informed Zelensky about his negotiations with the Russian leadership the day before. In addition, the President of Guinea-Bissau said that he was shocked by what he saw during his visit to several regions and cities of Ukraine affected by Russian aggression.
