Zelensky: The return of territories to the borders on February 23 will not be the end of the war
If Ukraine stops at the liberation of the territories that were under its control on February 23, then this will not be the end of the war. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with The Economist.
«This would not be the final, because no one understands what security guarantees are. We had the Budapest Memorandum. I was told: «Don't be afraid, everything is fine, there are no nuclear weapons. And this is the right way, and the whole world goes there». But the whole world did not come, as we see», — stressed the Ukrainian leader, commenting on the proposals for a settlement on the line on February 23.
He recalled that Ukraine exchanged its nuclear weapons for security guarantees that did not work.
«Why is only Ukraine paying such a high price? We are grateful to our supporters, but only we pay», — added Zelensky.
