Fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to move in the south and east of Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in an evening video message on October 8.
“We are holding positions in the Donbass, in particular in the Bakhmut direction, where it is now very difficult, very tough fighting. Today I would like to once again commend our soldiers from the 93rd Kholodny Yar mechanized brigade for their courage, for their steadfastness in this particular direction,” he said.
Zelensky also thanked the anti-aircraft troops and everyone involved in air defense. He emphasized that everything possible is being done to protect the Ukrainian sky.
The President added that one of the top priorities for Ukrainian diplomats — accelerate the decision of partners to provide our country with modern and effective air defense systems in sufficient quantities.
- The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny said that the situation at the front is difficult, but is completely controlled by the Ukrainian defenders.
