Zelensky became the winner of the Nemtsov Prize

President Vladimir Zelensky was awarded the Boris Nemtsov Prize “For Courage in Upholding Democratic Values”. This was reported on the website of the Boris Nemtsov Foundation for Freedom.

– In a situation of war, the Boris Nemtsov Foundation decided to nominate representatives of Ukraine for the Prize. Among the candidates were the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko, the leader of the Okean Elzy group Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, the founder of the unit of combat medical volunteers Yulia Paevskaya (Taira), adviser to the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Arestovich and others. According to the results of the rating voting of the founders and the Council of the Foundation, the President of Ukraine became the winner, the statement of the foundation states.

The Boris Nemtsov Charitable Foundation was founded in Germany in 2015. In particular, the organization is engaged in supporting the dialogue between Russia and the European Union, implementing educational programs and preserving the legacy of Boris Nemtsov. Every year, on behalf of the foundation, the Nemtsov Prize is awarded for courage in upholding democratic values.
